Come on down, Patrick Brown!
Here's SoCon MP Patrick Brown at the now infamous Rob Ford Family BBQ listening to Harper make his plug for a Stephen Harper/Rob Ford/Tim Hudak governing Con trifecta for Canada. FinMin Flaherty made a special point of thanking Brown for "being key to organizing this event".
Writing about Patrick Brown shifting from Parliament Hill MP into provincial politics as a candidate in the Ontario Progressive Conservative leadership race, John Iveson says that "nobody knows where he stands on any given issue".
Oh come on, John, we do so know a couple of things.
We know his campaign co-chair doesn't believe in evolution.
We know in 2006 he voted Yes to reopen the definition of marriage to remove teh gays, something Harper campaigned on in 2005 but no longer needed after he was elected.
We know in 2008 he voted Yes for Con MP Ken Epp's C-484 to recognize fetuses as persons.
We know in 2010 he voted Yes on Con MP Rod Bruinooge's Bill C-510, Roxanne's Law, another anti-abortion bill.
We know in 2010 he voted No on Bill C-384 to legalize assisted suicide.
WE know in 2012 he voted Yes on Con MP Brian Storseth's Bill C-304 to take hate speech out of the Canadian Human Rights Act.
We know in 2012 and 2013 he voted No on Bill C-389 to add gender identity and expression to the Canadian Human Rights Act.
We know in 2012 he voted Yes for Con MP Woodworth's C-112, yet another covert effort to give the state legal custody over us breeding vessels.
Not really what I'd call a dark horse actually, John.

40 - 40 - 20

Choice Joyce at Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada has researched which MPs are anti-choice, pro-choice, or unknown using their public statements during campaigns, their position on the awarding of the Order of Canada to Dr. Henry Morgentaler, and how they voted on Bill C-484, the Unborn Victims of Crime Act, at Second Reading in 2008.
"We will be back to reconsidering the question in the House . . . We’re taking incremental steps, small steps. It’s just a question of knowing when it’s the right time."

Belinda Stronach Has Breast Cancer
Please pray for Belinda.
We must still admit that for women taking oral contraceptives and having abortions, there is an increase in the risk of breast cancer. Check it out here. Keep scrolling down for the ABC link.

You utter worm.
You use the announcement of Stronach's breast cancer as an excuse to resurrect the utterly discredited link between abortion and breast cancer as promulgated by born-again anti-abortion British nutbar Dr.Joel Brind and his more recent American converts.
And by utterly discredited, John, I mean utterly discredited by the National Cancer Institute in the United States, the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (and their U.S. counterparts), the Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Breast Cancer Network as being entirely without merit.
"Label : LifeStyle Choices." What the fuck would you know of Stronach's personal history?
But that doesn't really matter, does it John, because your real message here is "It's your own fault, bitches."
JJ has a screen shot from Freeper Dominion of a strikingly similar but even more disgusting post from someone called "Paycheck".
Your imaginary sky monster must be just beaming with pride.

UPDATE : In comments Niles suggests it would be a nice gesture of support to Belinda to go to her website Spread the Net and make a donation/sponsorship to acquire UNICEF malaria nets for kids in Africa. They currently have 65,000 nets and are aimimg for 500,000. Each net is $10 and can protect 2 to 5 sleeping kids for up to 5 years. According to her site, an African child dies of malaria every 30 seconds.
