Young women vote Venus; old guys vote Mars

Federal voting intentions : gender and age
Question : If a federal election were held tomorrow, which party would you vote for?

From a sampling of 1022 interviews conducted on Dec 5 & 6.
The complete EKOS poll on other voter trends by issue and by region are here, but may I say - Go, young women!

I would suspect that a lot of the "old men" crowd that vote Conservative would vote otherwise if they started to think about how conservative maliciousness impacts them directly.

...and thankfully most aren't hopping on board Harper's wing nut train to Graceland.

These pollers never call me. They clearly don't care about the middle aged iconoclasts who play with lego demographic.

Go young people in general - like the US we're growing a young generation that primarily will identify itself as progressive.

Studies have shown that if you vote the same way in three elections you will probably vote that way for life. In this era of minority governments as far as the eye can see, and elections, federal or provincial becoming almost an annual tradition many young voters have already racked up their formative voting pattern.

Progressive poliics are about to become the base-line - we need to transition to making them work and defining what they are. Identity politics are only going to go so far without talking about economic issues too.

We need to start talking more about what we do after we've won people's hearts and minds.
