A message from the RCMP

CBC : Nigel Wright won't face charges over $90K payment to Mike Duffy
The RCMP has ended its probe into Nigel Wright...
Wright said in a statement to CBC News that he believed his actions were in the public interest and lawful.

"My intention was to secure the repayment of taxpayer funds," Wright said through his lawyer, Peter Mantas. He added that the RCMP's "detailed and thorough investigation has now upheld my position."
Quite the most brazen in self-serving nonsense -- the Senate certainly had no difficulty garnisheeing Senator Patrick Brazeau's wages in order to "secure the repayment of taxpayer funds".

Presumably the RCMP could not show that Wright stood to personally benefit from paying off Duffy to shut him up, while Steve, on behalf of whom this charade was perpetrated, knew nothing at all about it .

Well played all round in the best democracy money can buy.

I thought I saw comments here when I checked-in earlier this morning?

Anyhow, ... the harpercon zombies are loving this. No charges means another lefty conspiracy exposed.

Idiots.

The lesson to take away from this is that if an agent of a corporation bribes somebody, as long as only the corporation benefits and not the agent who makes the payoff, then everything is kosher.

Is it possible to hammer another nail in the coffin of your credibility when your credibility's coffin is already buried?

So if I were to bribe a sitting legislator on behalf of some other party, I wouldn't get charged?
Or does this only apply to people within the PMO?

Harper can't possibly permit Wright, Wallin nor Duffy to be charged. Some of them know where all of the bodies are buried. The only one that will be charged is Brazeau. Harper said, there was only one person responsible for the PMO scandal and, that person is Nigel Wright. Then Wright gave Duffy a huge gift that wasn't reported, then a loan. Now all the criminal behavior, is totally removed. I lost track of all the lies Harper has told.

Nor, will the Ethics Committee find any wrong doing of the dastardly crew either.

If you have heard of the RCMP in BC? You can't trust them either. Seems, the RCMP were just given a boost in their salaries.

The absurdity of what Canada has become, which has degenerated under the Harper government to an echo-chamber for elitist's who all they have to contribute to society is to have hoarded the largest pile of cash they could put their meat hooks into legally or illegally, morally or immorally. Elites only see in terms of monetary value plants, animals and humans are useless to them unless they can turn them over for profit. Medicare along with every other government service is useless to them because there is no profit in it, that's why they want to privatize it, simply so they can capitalize on it and reap tremendous profit on the sick disabled elderly and dying. We used to have unprintable terms for people like these now they prefer the term business men simply enjoying a profit. For elitists the only thing important in life is the race to the top of the 1% club.

So as citizens what are we supposed to do? The Law does not apply to the federal government or its friends or its contractors or its employees. The Law does not apply to corporations or the very rich. If I object I have immediately placed myself on a watch list by either RCMP or CSIS or maybe even both. If I disagree with the government or a large corporation's activities I'm involving myself in criminal activities even if I'm trying to expose fraud or criminal activity. If I peacefully demonstrate I am a fringe extremist radical terrorist of one stripe or another. If I tell the government that I do not agree and I don't vote conservative, I have become Harpers enemy and am put on a list for who knows what nefarious purpose in the future.

What happened to our Canada since when did it belong only to criminal dictatorships posing as democratic government. Since when did the oil business take over this criminal dictatorship and ensconce itself in areas of government like CSIS where it is treasonous for it to be and nobody cares? Welcome to Canola-land, Harpers nirvana paid for by Koch.

Time to revolt: Vote for Harper to leave office in disgrace eliminate the cancerous Conservative Party of Canada by offering it not a single vote outside its own membership. Let it slither back into the darkness from which it emerged born out of deceit lies and broken promises closed door deals and back room meetings, no these conservatives are not fit to govern a nation as great as ours. May 2015 end the depressing reign of conservative hell for Canadians we have been punished enough.

If what Nigel Wright did was legal, why did the PMO issue Duffy a script that said Duffy borrowed the money from a bank?

Duffy told the media he was ordered to say that by the PMO.

Remember the gentleman's original position of which he now states the police investigation is supportive: that he offered the money to pay the Ol' Duffster's bill so that the Canadian taxpayer wouldn't be on the hook for the inappropriately claimed expenses.

I'll take the gas pipe - and so should everybody else who might be inclined to buy this bullshit. Somebody had better advise the police on the conclusion that their "detailed and thorough investigation" has produced: that Nigel wrote the cheque to save the taxpayers' money because, as the smartest lawyer in the CRAP Party and as Harper's number-one bum-boy, he was too stupid to have a clue as to how the Government of Canada recovers money that it thinks it is owed by one of its citizens.

If the expenses were judged to be "inappropriate", fraudulent or in any way disallowable the government would recover the funds with a simple stroke of the pen and an instruction attaching liability to his Senatorial salary, or they'd send him a letter and grab the money from his bank accounts. And if his bank accounts were insufficient they'd attach one of his residences. The Government of Canada doesn't have any difficulty in recovering what is owed by private citizens.

End of story - no need for intervention by the Prime Minister's Chief-of-Staff. Canada's finances were not at risk. Nigel did not save the people any money. He made the payment to avoid public discussion of Duffy's "expanded role in the party" and the means by which the party had contrived to fund it. It was hush-money; it was a cover-up. And now we have a cover-up of the cover-up. There is no other reasonable explanation.

Yes, Alison, but if the Senate had tried to garnishee the Duffster's wages for merely doing what Harper had appointed him to do in the first place, there would have been hell to pay from both Duffster and the PMO. There had to be a third party fixer.

Remember the BC Rail scandal? Then we had a corruption of the corruption trial.

Castle or trial, Kafka wrote the Bibles on this stuff.

I'm just going to park this here as apparently the RCMP has no particular use for it.
